Mid-week groups and organisations
Social Working Group St. Alkmund’s Church has a Social Working Group which organises Social events throughout the year. Events have included: Christmas parties with in-house entertainment; Harvest bring and share lunches; Parish outings to the seaside; Easter morning breakfasts. |

Bible Study
A group meets to study the Bible twice a month on Wednesday afternoons in the Church Office.
The group meets at 2.00 pm. for an hour and a half, always finishing with a cup of coffee and a biscuit.
A book of the Bible is studied over a few weeks. A warm welcome and lively discussion is guaranteed.

Ecumenical Groups
St. Alkmund’s belongs to Churches Together in Whitchurch, and is represented on the following ecumenical groups. If you are interested in joining one of them please see contact details at the foot of this page.
![]() ![]() ![]() | Christian Aid Whitchurch Christian Aid group meets to organise the house to house collection during Christian Aid Week, Coffee Mornings and Evenings, Lent Lunches and the sale of Traidcraft Christmas Cards. It also organises and support the Annual Christian Aid Week United Sunday Service. Bible Society The local Action Group of the Bible Society meets to organise events which raise awareness of the worldwide work of the Bible Society, and to raise funds. Women’s World Day of Prayer The Women’s World Day of Prayer group meets to organise the annual service which is held in different churches in Whitchurch on the first Friday in March. ![]() |
![]() ![]() | Fairtrade This group promotes the sale of fairly traded goods. Our turn for the stall is the 2nd Sunday in the month, after the 10:00 am service. Congratulations were in order on the 12th August 2010, when it was announced that the hard work put in over the course of five years, by Whitchurch Fairtrade Campaigners and Group members, was rewarded by the news that our town has been awarded Fairtrade Town status!
