In light of the Government guidance,

the Archbishops of Canterbury and York

have issued advice that:

Public Worship is now allowed

However the decision to open has been left for each church to decide a local level and we have decided that it is in the best interests of the health of the congregation and wider community NOT TO OPEN FOR PUBLIC WORSHIP (ie Services)
The church will however be,
OPEN for Individual Private Prayer
between 10am and 5pm each day (St Alkmund's)
the other churches in our Benefice,
Holy Immanuel, Fauls and Christ Church, Tilstock,
will be open each Wednesday from 10am - 4pm

When in Church:

Please follow instructions regarding:  Wearing a Face Covering, Social Distancing and Hand Hygiene  and direction from clergy and stewards on arrival, whilst in church and when leaving church.

The church has had a deep clean and hand sanitiser stations provided - a cleaning regimen is in place.

The toilet will be available - but please only use if absolutely necessary. Only one person will be allowed in the kitchen area at any one time and cleaning all touched surfaces will be required.

The PCCs (Parochial Church Councils) and Clergy of the three parishes of Fauls, Tilstock and Whitchurch are keen to continue to provide people with the pastoral and spiritual care needed during the Coronavirus outbreak.

We shall continue to follow national advice
(Government and Church of England).

Even though regular Church Events/concerts etc remain

CANCELLED

until further notice,

The ministry of the Church has continued throughout the outbreak

Whilst opening is certainly welcome, we understand that some people won't feel as comfortable as others with the situation and may want to continue to receive what has been on offer during the outbreak, ie:

  • A regular phone call from one of our pastoral visitors; this could include prayer over the phone (we are not able to have a ‘face to face’ visit with those who are
    self-isolating)
  • Help with shopping if you are self-isolating and have no family members or friends who can assist and you cannot order on-line yourself; also collecting and delivering medication

Delivery of any of the following:

  • Pew sheets
  • Chancel Steps/Magazine
  • A weekly prayer leaflet
  • A leaflet to help with your daily prayers
  • Bible reading notes
  • Sermons/Reflections on Bible passages

A PRAYER FOR ALL THOSE AFFECTED BY CORONAVIRUS
Keep us, good Lord,
under the shadow of your mercy.
Sustain and support the anxious,
be with those who care for the sick,
and lift up all who are brought low;
that we may find comfort
knowing that nothing can separate us from your love
in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Amen.
